Teas are quite popular in Korea, especially ginseng tea, because of its strong connection between food and medicine. This ginseng tea recipe is zesty, aromatic and warms you from the inside. So, if its’s cold out, not feeling well or you simply enjoy the sensation of warm tea, give this tea a try.
What You Will Need:
Ginseng root – 8 slices
Water – 5 cups
Honey to taste
How to Make It:
Method 1
1 – If you have a tea ball, shave pieces of fresh ginseng root and put them into the tea ball.
2 – Steep in very hot (but not boiling) water for 5 minutes.
3 – Add honey to taste.
Method 2
1 – If you don’t want to use a tea ball, peel the ginseng root and make 7-8 thin slices.
2 – Coat the ginseng with a generous amount of honey and let it sit for 15 minutes.
3 – Pour very hot (but not boiling) water over the ginseng and honey and let steep for 5-10 minutes.
4 – Scoop or strain out ginger slices and enjoy!
Swap out your cup of joe for a cup of this tea and reap the benefits. If the taste of ginseng is too overpowering for you, it’s common to mix ginseng tea with green tea or ginger tea. You could use whatever proportions you like.
